- Melissa has been a writer since 2009, and has been working from home since 2006. Currently she writes for several online clients. She has tried many work at home ventures, and has experienced both success and failure. Melissa has also been homeschooling since 2008. Before working as a freelance writer Lisa worked in the mental health field for more than five years. She has worked with the developmentally delayed, mentally ill, and in the prisons.
